The Tarot Judgement

Juj' ment ~ A discernment. The formation of an opinion or estimate after consideration or deliberation, especially a formal or authoritative decision. A misfortune believed to be sent by God as punishment for sin.

NOTE: Judgement is one of two Major Arcana cards having two elements, Fire and Water. The other is the Magician card. Regardless of whether Judgement is read upright or reversed, it is up to the seeker to intuitively discern whether they are responding positively to a higher calling or rebelling against the message. Two very different holistic approaches can be used depending on the seeker's intuitive reaction and thoughts about the Judgement's meaning. If the seeker is willing to pursue the highest good for all, their Phlegmatic nature has taken the lead. If they are procrastinating, ignoring, or rebelling their Choleric nature is being represented.

The Tarot Judgement Traditional Meanings

You are being called. You may have something gnawing at your heart, making you feel it is of the utmost importance to wrap up loose ends, so to speak, and make decisions concerning your life’s course, which will promote more favorable results. You may not be able to explain this feeling that has come over you, but it is as though there is a voice inside of you calling you to make a significant change, to wipe the slate clean, and to prepare for a new beginning, and all rather quickly. Follow the voice. If you hesitate, all may be lost. Be accountable, prepared to change your ways, and ready to proceed more positively. Sometimes, this begins by forgiving those who have trespassed against you.

When the Tarot Judgement card is reversed, it can mean passing negative judgement against others or being negatively judged. It can also mean you aren't listening to a higher calling.

The Tarot Judgement Biblical Meanings

Some say the Tarot Judgement card refers to the final judgment (as in The Last Day when the dead receive eternal life), while others associate it with rebirth or karma. However, Judgement can represent a calling (or wake-up call) that leaves you finally understanding you're here for a divine purpose and can leave earthly securities and worries behind. You can start over, reinvent your life, and live your truth with renewed hope, prayer, and faith.

The Tarot Judgement in Health Readings

Health issues might include the pancreas, testicles, or metabolism directly resulting from lifestyle behaviors, such as lack of exercise or improper dietary habits. For some reason, you may not be listening to your higher self where your health is concerned.

Tarot Meditation

What do you feel called to do in life? What matters to you on a deep level? What are your values? If you were asked to stand up in front of the world and declare what's right and important to you in 12 words or less, what would you say? How can you match your actions to those words to live a life in alignment with your beliefs?

Food Remedies

Cholerics (FIRE element) tend to do very well on vegetarian diets. Ordinary table salt and salty foods, aged cheeses, vinegar and alcohol, high fat and fried foods, excessive red meat, highly sour foods, fermented foods, and very hot spices will bother the Choleric temperament.

Phlegmatics (WATER element) do well on both vegetarian and traditional diets. Milk, dairy products (including cheeses), wheat (and other foods containing gluten), refined sugar, starches, and flours, very cold and icy foods and drinks, and moist, creamy, rich foods will bother the Phlegmatic temperament.
