Online Labs

Whenever your doctor has given you a clean bill of health but you still feel sick and tired, it's crucial to run a few tests to get to the underlying cause. I suggest checking your hormones, but before doing that, consider getting a hair mineral analysis test to check for vitamin and mineral imbalances. Hormones become imbalanced when there are nutrient imbalances. When vitamin and mineral deficiencies are corrected, hormones frequently balance themselves out, and symptoms disappear, so testing your vitamin and mineral levels first makes good sense

Another crucial aspect to consider is the role of gut microbes. Deficient or toxic overgrowths of these microbes can lead to Leaky Gut Syndrome, a condition that hampers nutrient absorption and can result in vitamin and mineral deficiencies and hormonal imbalances. Therefore, it's important to test for these imbalances. Your healthcare provider should be able to assist you with these tests, but I've also included a few private testing resources for your convenience.

Saliva, Blood & Stool Tests

Most of the labs linked below offer a variety of tests to choose from for private, pay-out-of-pocket testing. Some tests are super easy (saliva, blood spot, stool). You pay for a kit to be sent to your address and return your sample to the lab by mail using a prepaid label the company encloses in your kit. Within a few days or a couple of weeks, they notify you of your results and usually provide a number to call to chat with someone about the findings. You'll visit a lab in your area to have blood drawn for blood-related tests. They'll let you know where to go and follow up on your results. Other online labs are also available, so research for the best pricing.

HSV Dating Sites & Forums

There is love after herpes, but you must consider your safety when meeting others for the first time. Please practice dating safety tips when meeting and dating someone new, regardless of how you meet. And don't be naive. Just because you meet someone who already has herpes doesn't mean you can't contract far worse diseases (people are not always honest). Always act in your best interest by following your intuition (not your hormones).

Suicide Hotline

At some point, whether it's the physical pain of a herpes breakout or the constant worry about your future, you may experience a sense of hopelessness that drowns out all hope. You may entertain thoughts of suicide. You're not alone in your thinking. Many people feel this way. However, thinking about it and planning it are very different things. If you plan on ending your life, please tell someone (a family member, friend, minister, or doctor) to get the help you need. You're a child of God (valued and loved). Have hope. God has a better plan for your life.
