Antiviral Oils, Butters, Waxes & Gels

Antiviral Carrier Oils

  • Virgin Coconut Oil is antiviral and protects skin from blemishes, signs of aging, or overexposure to sunlight. Coconut oil also keeps the skin's connective tissues strong and supple. It removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, smoothing the skin. It penetrates the deeper layers of the skin and strengthens the underlying tissues, healing and repairing age-damaged skin. Choose a high-quality organic coconut oil free of chemicals without bleach or hydrogenation, which can irritate your skin. Fatty acids from coconut's saturated fat are called Lauric Acid. Lauric acid converts into Monolaurin in your body. It is, otherwise, found only in human breast milk. Monolaurin supports your healthy immune system. Other studies suggest that monolaurin can stop messages sent between problem-posing cells, disrupting their ability to function. Monolaurin also helps to prevent herpes cold sore and genital breakouts.

  • Jojoba Oil is an antiviral liquid wax ester from cold-pressed seeds of desert shrubs that speeds healing and minimizes scarring. It is similar to the sebum your skin produces to retain moisture and keep skin smooth and elastic. From about twenty years old, your skin's production of sebum decreases. Jojoba mixes with your natural sebum and helps to maintain skin moisture and elasticity. Jojoba oil forms a thin, non-greasy lipid layer that holds water in your skin without clogging it and helps your skin do its job. Jojoba contains vitamin E, B-complex, Silicon, Chromium, Copper, Zinc, and Iodine.

  • Palm Kernel Oil contains many potent antioxidants, including Beta-Carotene and Tocotrienols (a potent form of vitamin E), which defend against free radicals generated by your environment. In addition, palm oil contains phytonutrients, including Phytosterols, Squalene, CoQ10, and mixed Carotenoids.

  • Almond Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil are antiviral and lovely on hand in the bathroom. Almond oil is very light and works wonderfully for the face as a moisturizer and a makeup remover. Olive oil is great for the bath and as a skin moisturizer. It works well as an instant shine booster for dull or frizzy hair. Rub a little into your palms and smooth your hands through your hair.

  • Other excellent antiviral oils are Saint John's Wort, Tamanu, and Emu

Antiviral Butters & Waxes & Gels

  • Mango Butter, extracted from the seed kernels of the mango fruit, has compounds that act as antiviral agents and resemble Cocoa Butter. Mango butter is a common ingredient for soaps and other skincare products, replacing petroleum-based emollients. Mango butter protects against the sun's UV rays. Mango butter softens, soothes, moisturizes, and protects your skin. In addition, it helps to maintain flexibility and control any age-related damage.

  • Shea Butter is an all-natural vitamin A cream from the tropics of Africa. Unrefined and organic Shea butter contains vitamins, minerals, proteins, and unique fatty acids. In addition, it enables your skin to absorb moisture from the air. The name of its tree of origin is called the Tree of Life.

  • Beeswax is often used to thicken recipes and contains antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. For example, to create a firm ointment or solid perfume.

  • Aloe Vera Gel is antiviral and soothes minor burns, cuts, scrapes, and skin irritation. It contains more than seventy-five nutrients and helps to produce collagen and elastin for a youthful appearance. Minerals found in Aloe Vera include Calcium, Sodium, Iron, Potassium, Chromium, Magnesium, Manganese, Copper, and Zinc. In addition, Aloe Vera Gel contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, and E and Folic Acid. Amino acids are your body's building blocks. Eight are essential that your body can't reproduce but are in the aloe plant.

Creating an Antiviral Essential Oil Recipe

Essential oils are never to be used neat (straight, undiluted). Aloe Vera Gel relieves itching, and vitamin E relieves pain. So, consider using them together in antiviral essential oil recipes. For example, you can add 30 drops of Lemon Balm essential oil to one tablespoon of Virgin Coconut Oil, two teaspoons of Aloe Vera Gel, and one teaspoon of vitamin E oil. If you have no vitamin E oil on hand, you can prick vitamin E capsules open and squeeze the equivalent of 1 teaspoon into your base. This recipe gives you a 5% dilution, the strongest you can make and use safely.

NOTE: Ensure your Aloe Vera Gel comes straight from the plant leaf or says 100% pure (no alcohol or preservatives) on the product label, or it will sting (ouch!).

The Captains Ladys Remedy Balm Recipe

I created The Captains Ladys Remedy Balm recipe after creating The Captains Ladys Remedy Oil formula. Besides helping to heal herpes breakouts, Scentsable Immunitea Remedy Balm can help heal acne breakouts, pimples, boils, insect bites, minor fungal infections, scratches, bruises, and mild to moderate burns, including sunburn.

This recipe includes ingredients proven to be antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial. It can, sometimes, halt breakouts from ever blistering when caught it in time and speed healing by half if herpes lesions are present by supporting the body's immune system and restoring skin to health. It can also help to prevent skin discolorations and scarring, has a pleasant scent that disappears quickly, and is nonstaining. Because the balm warms to the body's temperature, it glides on without further pulling or damaging sensitive skin.

The Captains Ladys Remedy Balm contains The Captains Ladys Remedy Oil in a base of the following all-natural ingredients.

  • Virgin Coconut Oil removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, smoothing the skin. It penetrates deeper layers of the skin and strengthens the underlying tissues, healing and repairing age-damaged skin. Fatty acids from coconut's saturated fat are called Lauric Acid. Lauric acid converts into Monolaurin in the body, otherwise found only in human breast milk. Monolaurin supports the immune system. Other studies suggest that monolaurin can stop messages sent between "problem-posing" cells, disrupting their ability to function, which, by the way, prevents herpes breakouts.

  • Olive Oil has antioxidant and antibacterial properties, contains vitamins A, D, E, and K, and is an excellent skin moisturizer.

  • Avocado Oil is full of antioxidants and healthy fats. It's rich in Oleic Acid (a monounsaturated fat) and vitamins A and E. It soothes the skin and enhances wound healing. Avocado improves the absorption of other skin moisturizers.

  • Jojoba Oil is a liquid wax ester from cold-pressed seeds of desert shrubs that speeds healing and minimizes scarring. It is similar to the sebum that skin produces for moisture and elasticity. However, the skin's sebum production decreases from about twenty years old. Jojoba mixes with the body's natural sebum and helps maintain suppleness by forming a thin, non-greasy lipid layer that holds water in your skin without clogging pores. Jojoba contains vitamin E, B-complex, minerals silicon, chromium, copper, zinc, and iodine.

  • Vitamin E has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It supports the immune system and helps healthy skin cells to regenerate. It is also a natural preservative.

  • Beeswax is anti-allergenic and contains anti-inflammatory properties. It soothes irritated skin and locks in moisture to keep skin hydrated, plump, and smooth. Beeswax can help keep the skin firm and plump. It is also a natural pain reliever.
